We had the chance to navigate some of the driving sections set up in Nevada, emulating the extreme conditions of places like Borneo.
Enhancements include a ventilation system upgrade, moving more air with less noise, alongside an expanded 16.9-gallon gas tank. During these trials, journalists explored diverse terrains—a narrow autocross track with berms and hills, and an off-road course with steep hills and challenging sections. Impressively, the Freelander SE3 showcased Land Rover's renowned off-road capabilities despite its monocoque body, full-time four-wheel drive, and absence of hardcore off-road features like low-range gearing or locking differentials. Instead, it utilizes a center viscous coupling, low first gear, and ABS-managed hill-descent control.
