Vehicle Description

Have a look at this slick Chevy Nova. Equipped with 427 cubic inches of small block power, a smooth automatic transmission and dashing aesthetics, this restored coupe is the kind of car that you catch yourself just stopping to stare at. And if you're ready to feel the summer breeze behind the wheel of a storied Detroit legend, it's a chance to turn your dreams into reality! BODYWORK/TRIM A head-turning muscle car that's dashed with a fair amount of street rod swagger, this hot hardtop features a detailed, custom appearance that's highlighted by a spectacular coat of bright red 2-stage paint. That 2-stage wraps a solid profile that, during the car's nut-and-bolt rotisserie restoration, was stripped bare and lovingly massaged in to shape and chocked-full of top-shelf components. And today, this Nova rolls as one lights-out resto-mod that's guaranteed to make you weak in the knees! The subdued and classy lines of the prototypical Nova are early '60s conservative. And because they're so universal in appeal, they've continued to gain significant popularity. At the front of this Chevy, a broad bumper founds a chrome-plated grille between clean parking lights, requisite T3 headlamps and vivid Chevrolet emblems. Behind that grille, a familiar Cowl Induction Hood leads the eye to like-new glass, which is caged in straight trim, bright drip rails and painted wipers. At the sides of that glass, a tidy profile, shaved of all emblems, centers chrome-plated trim beneath traditional door handles and a flush-fit fuel door. And at the back of the car, a second bumper reflects more Chevy emblems, more chrome-plated aluminum and Dakota Digital LED taillights. ENGINE This sweet looking Chevy is powered by 427 cubic inches of Cox Racing small block that rides in a custom, show-detailed engine bay. Built to tear up the street and wow show goers alike, that impressive mill, which combines a sturdy Dart block with lightweight Air Flow Research heads, transforms stout compression into roughly 590 tire-shredding horsepower. At the top of the block, a custom air cleaner jams oxygen in to FAST electronic fuel injection. Up front a Vintage Air Front Runner system spins modern power steering beneath a polished alternator and coated AC compressor. In front of those ancillaries, a custom core support shrouds a custom AutoRad radiator, supported by electric puller fans and a polished expansion tank. And, on the visual end of the spectrum, glossy Proform valve covers and trick dipsticks perfectly complement braided fluid lines, hydraulic hood supports and a Wilwood master cylinder. DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION Take a long look under this lightweight X-Body and you'll find many small modifications that add up to impressive appearance points and big performance gains. The buff 427 utilizes an Art Carr 200-4R 4-speed to spin an aluminum Dynotech driveshaft, which twists a tough Moser axle that's finished with a Truetrac differential and big, 3.73 gears. That axle rides a Detroit Speed QUADRALink, which plants beefy coil-over-shocks at the sides of an aluminum diff cover. Opposite that 4-link, a Detroit Speed subframe cages two more coil-overs between tubular control arms. Turns come courtesy of power rack-and-pinion steering. Stops are quick and precise thanks 6-piston Baer calipers, which clamp 14-inch drilled and slotted rotors. Spent gases are managed by oval, ceramic-coated pipes, which make excellent use of a SpinTech X-pipe and coated SpinTech mufflers. Power pounds the pavement through polished Intro Pentia wheels, which spin 255/35ZR18 BF Goodrich g-Force T/A tires in front of 295/35ZR18 BF Goodrich g-Force T/A tires out back. And, like any carefully assembled classic, the bottom of this Nova is as well finished as its top, with undercoated floors shading niceties like Detroit Speed subframe connectors, Detroit Speed mini tubs and a polished Rock Valley fuel tank. INTERIOR Inside this Chevy, you'll find seamless customization that wa
